SW Nebraska | I have been involved with the 1tripr since its conception and have always ran it as a one pass strip till/plant operation.
I would measure the distance between the center two row units on the 1tripr. You should find they are not spaced the same as the rest of the machine. If not you can move the 1tripr row units to offset them compared to your planter row units. You will want half of your units offset to the right and half off to the left.
On the fertilizer question. I would not be scared of putting too much fertilizer on with the offset. Offset is typically 1.5-2". I adjust placement to 1.5-2" below the seed. I have put on 100#+ of N and 45 gal of 8-20-5-5-5 with no side effects
