Subject: starting almost from scratch.

Wisconsin
How would one that owns nothing but his own house, vehicles, and personal items start out on the grain farming? Now I say almost from scratch because one owns no equipment or land. That being said one has the ability to rent 150 or so acres for nothing more than paying the taxes for it and some owned equipment from dad and grand dad. Keeping in mind the equipment is really just the tractors as the rest had been sold.

I was asked if I would want to get into the farming business when I was 16. As that's when dad and grand dad decided they were done.I said no because at 16 I had "other things I wanted to do". Fast forward to age 20 and I was helping every farmer in the county. Milking, field work, what have ya for quite awhile. Fast forward again to present I'm 28 yes old and have been working with an operation for about 6 yrs now who currently rents said above ground. I would like to get into business on my own if it was at all possible.

What are your thoughts on this?
No offense taken, just what your true honest thoughts.
Thanks
