| First I look at Calving Ease (CE), then I skip right past the other EPDs and look at actual BW and actual WW.
Not saying I really have a clue, I just put more stock in the actual numbers than the expected numbers.
I also like to walk in a pen with them before I decide. I had one I wanted to buy once because I liked the way he looked on paper, but I didn't give him a second look when I saw his attitude.
Right or wrong, my priorities are to have calves born unassisted and not have to get in any rodeo clown practice. Anything else after that EPD-wise is the gravy :) | |
