I was told to run no more than 10% on wheat and not to grind it

I have finished cattle on a self feeder full of 100% ground wheat. Have to work the cattle up more slowly than something like barley. using a hammer mill through a 5/16 inch screen. Used to finish 100-150 head a year that way. The only thing with wheat finished cattle is that fat is firm and hard to chew. After running 400-500 head like this I think I only ever lost 1 to bloat. But some of them would have their feet founder.
