East-Central Ontario | The problem with killing them in place is that you'll have no control over how they eventually come down so there will be damage to the remaining trees and a tangled mess to deal with down the road. Maybe significant damage if you get a big windstorm. For about the same labour as girding, a decent feller should be able to lay them all down cleanly and start them rotting right away. It'll cost some but should be better in the long run. Depending on local rates it might even be worth hiring a mulcher. Think about your fire risk though | |
