Lone Wolf, Ok | Yes, Power Point needs a .wav type file -- This is an non-compressed file type that is editable -- versus mp3 which is compressed.
To convert from mp3 to wav you need something like Audacity . It is a free editing program that can handle many things dealing with audio.
