Eastern Kansas | Six months is probably too young to start them on cattle in the pasture. Maybe if they were small calves without cows. I usually start dogs on small goats, 40 or so lbs. in a pen. You want to build their confidence and let them have fun at that age. You need to have a good "stop" or "down" on them. Always knew who was training a new dog because they kept fencing pliers handy.
