Subject: RE: oiling planter chains

Central IL
I bought a gear reduction electic motor and mounted it on an adjustable stand. I mix diesel fuel with hydraulic oil that we save from changing oil and filters in tractors. Even if you have hydraulic drive, this works better because you can run it and check for any jumping chains, squeaky bearings or any thing else that may affect planter performance. You just have to adapt a 1/2" drive to fit on the motor shaft then use two universal joints and the right size socket.
