| so tell me what soil and climate have to do with resistance?
nothing is the answer you are looking for!
the decision to manage a piece of land a certain way because of soil or weather does not make a weed/plant develop resistance
the selection pressure on that population is what isolates resistance within a population
that selection pressure has nothing to do with soil and climate
selection pressure is product of mismanagement of a mono culture that lacks weed management diversity. no one made you guys use nothing but chemicals and plant nothing but cotton, that's your mismanagement and bad decisions, not the weeds.
problem is, you cant see that cause all your neighbors are in the same boat, so you all assume no one did anything wrong cause there is nothing right to compare it too
which is funny given your comment that you think you live in an area with the worlds best farmers. frankly you couldn't be further from the truth
like I said, crowbar and a sandbox. and just wait till glufosinate doesn't work anymore cause you HAVEN'T CHANGED YOUR MISMANAGEMENT DECISIONS, which are just that; bad decisions
