Negative interest rates coming?

When I talk "holding cash" - treasuries are included. Do you know of *anyone* who has quite a lot of "cash" who has it in something that does not generate some nominal interest return? Buying a Tbill is not "investing."

Of course, with inflation, investments can go up when there is no real alternative. They will go up until they crash - right? If profits don't go up accordingly, they just get more and more dangerous. I'm trying to think about what the end result of zero interest rates might be. Is the lack of incentive (of ROI) going to make the really wealthy want to consume more and more of the wealth they have accumulated? Or is the fear that there will be no income going to frighten them into hunkering down?
