This incident began a few miles from my home. The four dead people and one wounded man lived their lives probably never dreaming something like this would happen to them. Only one day in their lives did they need to defend themselves.
I have no way of knowing I whether I might survive an encounter with a Wessel and Hale. Given the way they operated, one might never be able to bring his own gun into play. One thing is for certain, on that April day, an unarmed person stood no chance at all. Also notice that all it took to send the killers to ground, and eventual death and capture, was one victim arming himself and confronting them.
So, is it paranoid to be prepared, or is it foolish not to have the proper tools at your disposal? | |
