Dangerous soil. Best to investigate down to about 4 feet, but really need to do 2 or tile depth whichever is deeper.

Probably a discharge area and that's what is driving the sulfate levels.

Really need to see conductivity, one of the very most important soil tests in your situation.

Here is the danger. It's possible, if you leach out the very soluble salts to turn the soil into a sodic soil. Need to know the situation down to tile depth.

Realize that often people don't do the testing beforehand and often they get away with it. Sometimes they don't.

Many on the board have no appreciation for what you have to pay for gypsum or lime.
