NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | I was talking to a guy last night last helps with harvest with a large producer about 75 miles from me. He said all the corn they were combining had very low ear placement, in fact it was hard for the corn head to get low enough to get it all. Claimed all the neighbors around them had the same problem. The producer had his seed salesman out and he claimed it was wide spread.
Around me I've noticed some fields that appear to have lower hanging ears but it doesn't look like it would be a problem harvesting it. Mine corn personally has been normal height so I don't know why others are seeing this. It's been a very different year for sure.
