| hybrids with low ear placement will always have lower ear placement than those with high ear placement. Growing conditions especially during the period when the lower node are expanding will determine just how high or how low the ear is placed from the ground, but will probably be at the same node each year. Some hybrids with low ear placement will get too low on sand or droughty ground. Not sure wether viagro would help a low hanging cob. | |
