OK | One of my first calf heifers was found dead this morning with her calf still alive. My wife has been working with the calf and has tried to bottle feed it some colostrum but says it does not have a suckle reflex and isn't trying to eat. I suspect it was probably oxygen deprived for awhile - anyone have any experience with this? I plan to try and tube it and get the colostrum in it this afternoon - don't know whether the "coffee trick" would be of any benefit here? | |
