| All this talk about peoples's right and liberty is very entertaining. Those who are so avidly defending this nurses "rights" seem to mostly be the same ones who approve of big government's interjection into our daily affairs, and vice versa.
My thoughts are this. An individuals's actions can cause them to forfeit or have reduced some of their "rights". In this case, the nurse's participation in caring for people with a disease that has a very high mortality rate should cause her to lose some of her freedoms for a couple weeks to help preserve the greater good as it may be. Just like someone who misuses a weapon, or drives drunk and is arrested, actions have consequences. The ones defending her seem to be of the mindset that is all to prevalent in our society now that discounts any sense of personal responsibility for their actions.
There really is no huge precedent to be set by this, as any law or ruling could be interpreted to the extreme. | |
