To help yourself decide whether you really want a walk-in tub or not, fill up your regular tub with good warm water and bathe as usual. Then drain the tub completely while you're still in it, then try to get out of the tub. The thing is, the body is generally so relaxed by the time the bath is done, the muscles don't want to work very well afterwards. Granted, the walk-in tub has a higher seat than a regular tub, but the principle is still pretty much the same. Sitting there the entire time the tub fills, bathing, then sitting, shivering while the tub drains so you can open the door to get out has dissuaded me from thinking they're all that great of an idea. To each their own......I'd like to hear from someone who has one and has used it for a while.
