. | I replaced a cast iron tub with a fiberglass standard size tub, but is a jacuzzi brand with whirlpool. Rarely use the tub in the summer, but love it in the cold winter months. Replaced cast iron tub in son's house with acrylic. Seems fine too, except make sure there is mortar mix under the acrylic, makes horrible cracking noises otherwise. Cast iron is fine if you have the help to carry the darn thing. Another option would be have your existing tub refinished. Costs less and saves a lot of hassle. | |
