Missouri | Using autoswath, on corn, it's pretty close. I'd say less than 1% area overcount, on average. This will vary depending upon the layout of your particular fields.
Using autoswath, on beans, it will be off a little more. Typically I see 2%-3% area overcount on our fields. I think the difference is actually on the full swaths. In corn, if you're talking a full header swath, you're taking a full header swath. In beans, you can be off a foot or two (most people are, even if they won't admit it) and you're not yet off target far enough for autoswath to begin reducing swath width. My setup is a 25 foot header, and autoswath is in 2.5 foot sections. If I'm skipping 2 feet of my 25 foot header, it's still counting 25 feet.
I have used the area calibration feature Ted mentioned on an older PF Advantage, but I have not seen an area calibration on an Integra. I will look for one the next time I am in the cab. | |
