Subject: RE: area on yield monitor

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Depends. The area counter is accumulating area whenever the head is down and assumes that you are taking a full swath. If you have long rounds and are always taking a full swath the yield monitor area should be close but a little high for field area compared to the actual area. With short rounds and partial swaths the displayed value would be off more. The Ag Leader yield monitors have a procedure to force the field acres to match the known acres after a field is harvested.
