Subject: Di-electric grease? again.

just a tish NE of central ND
Trailer lights that give grounding issues at times. The past post a couple of days back just leaves me confused about dielectric grease. I seem to see a lot of it in light bulb sockets and under the dashes of vehicles etc..
I have been successfully using the stuff it seems.
Is it right OR wrong to use a coating of di-electric grease between the ground wire eyelet and the aluminum trailer metal it is screwed on to between the clearance lights plastic? Is it right or wrong to use Di grease in the plug-ins? Is it right or wrong to fill light bulb sockets on my cattle trailer with di-electric?
Can it be used on 12 volt batteries or is that wrong?
