We had the exact same issue on ours and tried the same things you said plus put on all new guards. We put on new parts because our lines were wore off and within a hour the new stuff looked the same. We just got some grade 8 bolts with lock nuts and got them as tight as we could then took a small piece of metal (maybe 1/4 by 1/4 by 3) and welded it across the heads of the bolts. Read the idea somewhere on here and it got us thru. I think our box is wore out but didn't want to fix it with beans to cut.
