Do you grow any winter wheat in your area? How about lima beans or string beans? Could plant winter wheat after your sweet corn and then after wheat harvest plant your lima beans or string beans. Might be to far north... duno.... Typical rotation in some places. Peas are tough.... Only thing I've seen worse are cucumbers..... cannery will reject a load of those on a whim....
