Grabill, Indiana | Our first corn crop was in 2010, we got everything planted in Late April and had all the N applied pre-plant along with our chemical program. Then the rain started and didn't quit for two weeks. We lost a substantial portion of our N, while neighbors were shelling 180 bushel corn, ours was only 110 because our corn ran out of N.
We side dress about 2/3 of our N needs and we do it as late as we can.
