Subject: To Disk or not to disk (corn stalks)

SE IL
It is a question that comes up repeatedly, but we are torn on how to handle corn stalks. We disked all of our stalks last fall but this spring they were so rough, we had to hit them again, some 2 passes. Then a finishing tool pass. So we made 4 total passes before planting.

We are thinking more fall spraying instead of tillage. Anyone with a definitive answer?!

Thanks
