N FLA | I'm talking above my knowledge. But I think we are seeing a strong divergence from 75% lean to say 85% lean. The heavy BCS 6 cows have fallen only slightly, say from 1.20 to 1.15.....I've been buying BCS 2-3 at 0.80 or less and those would have been over a dollar in July. My program was 750# @ 0.75 last winter. I figure any cows I can get at 0.80 ought to be in the ballpark. Probably pick up some pretty poor ones in the cold of winter for less, but these will work with free feed.
So I'm thinking high yield cows stay pretty flat, demand lower for low yielding. | |
