$300 with the same $ down as a lease would require should get you a 4-5 yr old half ton with well under 100K miles and still have some warranty on it.  Can always add the factory extension for $1K-$1500 if it is that big of a deal.  My current one was just under 4 years old, 70K miles and under $20K for a loaded half ton.  So far all I have is a $100 computer reprogram into it after 20K miles as far as repairs go and it is still worth at least $15K, think MSRP was $36K.

And at least in this state a 4-5 year old truck has a lot cheaper plates and of course you are paying tax on a lot less purchase price.  You are looking at $600 vs $200/yr for registration alone.
