Southcentral WI | Why so many people are bent on 'owning' something. Businesses lease facilities all the time because it makes financial and tax sense. We all want to "own" the most depreciable commodity known to man - vehicles. Yes, vehicles, and farm equipment are a commodity as well that we can trade and barter. Both are depreciable in nature. How come we don't put an emphasis on leasing the highly depreciable assets and OWN the assets that gain value - land for example? Instead, we lease the assets that gain value over time, and own the assets that decrease in value over time. | |
