Subject: Clipping beans with 635 F question

Tried to clip a few navy beans with a new to us 35 foot head on a 9770 sts , it has 650/85 R38 on the front and 28L-26s on the rear. It was doing a really poor job of clipping so we tipped the head down quite a bit with the feeder house adjustment. That seemed to help some but still an unsatisfactory job. Knife is in great shape so that is not the issue. Wondering if we need to tip the head more, to do so we have to change to the back set of holes on the adjustment stop. hoping for some advice.
