Kind'da depends . . . . Wedges, if allowed to loosen up, can wear and then never get or stay tight .. .  So, I guess, after experiencing bad wedge types, I'd opt for U-bolt types, until I experience those stretching and getting loose.  ( ~ ;

Edit: I should add . . . . I'm experienced with the old style wedge on the 06-86 series . . .. . .
