northwest Indiana | I had the U bolt type on a previous tractor. The farm tire guy from our local co-op told me to get them in position before he put the tires on, then when he came out he put the 1"impact on the bolts, handed me a big sledge hammer, and told me to hit the "u" side of the bolt while he tightened them. He alternated to each side of the the u, and I hit the bolt with everything I had. Each time I hit it, the socket turned a little more. When I traded the tractor 20 years later, they were still tight. I think it would have taken heat to get it off.
