SD/ND/FL | The lease is valid until production stops on the spacing unit. Most parties would lose their leases if that were to happen so there is a lot of economic incentive to keep the wells producing.
All mineral owners have/had the option to participate in the drilling of the well but it wasn't such a no-brainer only a couple years ago. Also, most don't have that kind of cash sitting around | |
