I would go with an impala. I have 2 ls versions and think they are sporty, dependable, economical. the 3.8 is a very good engine with a few well known minor issues. I usually get right at 30mpg on the highway. at 100k miles, your impala was low miles. I hope the insurance gives you an allowance for that. I have 200k on my 2001 and 160k on a 2004 with very few issues. my daughter just bought a 2005 ls with 150k for $4000.
