SW Iowa | Just do what you say you will do, and always return calls. Simple, and yet so hard for some salesmen to do.
Also, learn to accept rejection and don't take it personally. Grow a thick skin, you cannot close every deal, just be honest, and do what you say you will do.
I consider a good salesman to be similar to a good service tech. Knowledgeable in the equipment, options, pricing, availability, and delivery date. Get me the best price and deliver what I am wanting. Don't tell me you will, then don't,, and blow out excuses why you didn't. You tell me you will call back, you'd better.
I really don't care what your dad did for 36 years, or how many kids you have, or where you took the family for Xmas... I want to keep it business with a sales person, not personal. And, don't carry tales of what BTO John is doing.
Good Luck! | |
