I think millets can be a problem for horses not cattle.
I believe you are right, something about HORSES kidneys cant get along with millet and it will make them sick (Ive heard) and eventually cause kidney failure.
We have fed tons and tons of millet and Sudan to cattle and some of it was quite ripe at times.No problem. The biggest thing is it is high fiber and not much protein in it so you nee a protein source to go with the sudan and millet..
