s.c. north dakota | I took the 10 speed out of this truck and replaced it with a 13 speed. The replacement trans came out of a 94 fld and mine is a 95, everything fits and works except for one little thing. If I plug in the speed sensor on the back of the trans, I can run through the gears and get to about 50mph ad about 1600rpm and the check engine light will come on and the engine will stumble and run rough, also the cruise control doesn't work. Now if I stop on the road crawl underneath and unplug the speed sensor, the truck runs perfect and the cruise works. I tried different sensors, I either have a speedometer and a check engine light or I have no speedometer and the cruise works. I was going to pick up a new sensor but I don't see how that could be the problem. I did replace the pickup ring on the tail shaft of the trans thinking maybe there was some difference but no help there. I could just put in a gps and forget about the speedo but I would like everything to work. | |
