Where are you located? regardless, no till drilling would be far superior to get the seed in the ground. Also need to start with the established grass mowed or grazed pretty hard. In southern states you could still use sorghum sudan for a cutting this fall yet. in northern states you'd want to try cereal rye, triticale or annual ryegrass- all make good forage but he latter 2 are better. Could also get creative and add 2 pounds of radish for increased protein in the fall or just to condition the soil over winter if you don't cut it this fall.
