Subject: 3 Stine numbers planted on 15"

Central NE

Roads were dry enough to travel out to the farm today. Wanted to see how far long the corn was.

Attached is a picture of three conventional numbers I planted of Stine this year.

All are on 15" no-tilled into last years cover crop and wheat stubble. Could not get a exact number for nutrients from salesman, so my coop and I came up with a dry spread of 160# of 11-52-0, 45# of 21-0-0-24s and 27# of 46-0-0. I don't know how to figure total N, but I think we talked about having 30# of N out there for a starter. I also split pumped 32% 3 times to get 88# of N thru the pivots.

Ear on the left is 9628 planted at 40k, middle ear is 9613E planted at 45k and the ear on the right is 9739 planted at 47k with a little at 51k. All ears are 16 around. I also planted the 9628 on the other side of the field with the other varieties I'm trying at my normal 38k but I didn't grab a ear. Got a good dose of hail after pollination that tore the leaves up, but I don't see a sign of bruising on the ear.

Glad to see they are all full dent with the milk line just starting to lower. God has supplied enough water this year, that the dryland corners will produce. If a person only knew, they would have been planted at 40k also instead of 20k.

Edit to correct variety number
