No, the answer was specific to his question.  If you don't already have a bunker, and have no experience managing a bunker, once can do about as well with a drive over pile.  If anyone is going to stick with silage making for 10 years or more, my recommendation is to build a bunker and learn how to manage it properly.  Half the foot print, easier to face, no mud in the approach, etc, etc.
