Not as simple as that. Cheaper corn has lowered the cost of gain in the feedyard, so less incentive to take the risk grazing wheat. Also there are just not that many calves out there to be had for grazing. Fair enough.. but for those who have the cattle.. and the wheat pasture.. making the evaluations about whether to pull off and make grain or stay and make lbs of beef... ??? Lot's of variables between now and then... They are chomping on the bit to get drills started.. but going too early.. good for grazing.. not so good for disease and moisture needed later to make grain. "interesting times" indeed.
