ruff numbers... $100000 for a sprinkler, $20000 for pump and well, $50000 for a pond. $5000 permits, and you still have the chance the state can say no you cant use it.

take $175000 and spend it on improving your soil on ten times that much land that you already farm, like lime, gypsum, colliodal phosphate, humates, chicken poop, covercrops, or whatever you choose and then tell me which returns you more. I like the irrigation idea but it kind of requires water and the river doesnt always have water, I guess I wouldnt try it without a 200gpm well at least, send brian up and i will show him some before and after water holding demostrations, in 5 years i have increased the water holding capacity by 5.6 inches for under $300 per acre if that gives you some numbers to work with. if i would have had alight gleaner combineing rather then a heavy cat it might be 5.8 inches! good luck
