2009 was probably the second best dryland crop year, behind 2004. I should mention that people dont realize how much dryland corn is raised on summer fallow ground in western Nebraska. That year, was incredibly wet for that part of the state. Alot of those acre were yielding unheard of numbers and that really kept the statewide dryland average up. That is not the case this year. The western part of Nebraska has never left the drought from 2012.
