Prairie hay should be ok, start him off with a few pounds of corn a day and just warm him up slowly. Get him up to about a 5 gallon bucket a day till finished. I put a little steakmaker in there as well. I should say that I am far from an expert but thats what I did, and haven't killed them yet.
