Jim I really think you are talking about two different corn fields look at the pics. not even roasting ears yet. Lot of difference in Missouri corn and your corn in the fall. Grazing corn designed for grazing has ears also but not a high % of the whole plant. At the stage those plants are in about the same as grazing corn IMO.
