Subject: grazing corn

Monett Missouri
I got the weaned calves started on the grazing corn last week. I have been running them on Bermuda grass the last few years but was never happy with the gains. Last summer was worse so I decided to try this. Yes we have some waste with them knocking it down but calves look good and my cost per acre is reasonable ($100/ac). I am getting 2 days of grazing with 76 600# calves off of less than an acre. I probably should have started on it sooner but I had some great second growth fescue and red clover. I hated to see it go to waste. I have been struggling with pinkeye this year even after implanting them with the pinkeye vaccine, I am open to any solutions to fix this problem . Here are some pics.
