Mid-Michigan | Ed, I know you are a big proponent of gypsum and so am i . We have been applying a ton to different farms the past 3 years (after wheat). I have one farm, that I applied a ton two years in a row on. I have corn on that farm right now. Tissue test came back marginal on Mn, and low on boron (this is normal). But what did show up for the very first time ever on any tissue test was a very low reading on iron. Is there a correlation between gypsum and iron removal? To my knowledge the only difference in my fertility program was the gypsum was doubled on this farm. For what its worth, I fertilize and shoot for 200 bu. Corn and 60 bu. Soys and 90-100 bu wheat. I broadcast ESN, urea and ams and use 18 gal. Of starter and no side dress.
