SE MN | I think on a conventional combine its more of an issue and maybe people apply the same thinking onto the STS. It might be best to have it full all the time, but in the real world that is just not going to happen. I guess the most glaring reason why I would question the need for an STS to be kept full all the time is that the rotor is the same in several models. If it's really necessary, then wouldn't a 9660 never perform adequately because it doesn't have the hp, cleaning area or grain elevator to run it to capacity as a 9860 does? I also do not necessarily buy into the notion that an STS always throws too much corn out the rotor. | |
