That is exactly what it should do. Mine doesnt switch from left to right when you turn. Are you using steering? If so what controller and firmware?
This has been my observation as well (it doesn't switch). I am using a CFX-750 with a Nav II on WAAS. I'm unsure of my firmware versions. They have not been updated recently.
