Subject: RE: replanting beans

NE Iowa
Neighbor lost some bottoms of corn back in 2008 in NE Iowa. It finally dried out enough to plant on July 10th and he planted them to soybeans. They made 35 bu/acre/ Personally I'd try it but don't go with a short season bean. I'd go with something like a 2.8-3.1 maturity. Later maturity then you normally plant. If you plant a short season bean like a 1.5 they will get 12" tall and you'll be combining them in September. If you plant a later bean you will give the plant more time to put on yield before the amount of daylight tells the plant to mature.
