No trimming required. Just put them on and go bale. Yours were just wore out. I have even replaced the bolts that hold them on with a rounded Allen headed type bolt to make the job easier next time. Normally the stock bolts get rounded off from hay going over them and are a pain to get out. Good luck Darren
